How about your stiff BOY Marty Cordova? He is a big time Free Agent Bust that you wanted Shapiro to resign! Again you Shapiro bashers show your stupidity as Marty The Meatball and his 33 year old carcass has shown what a patheic stiff he has demonstrated the last five yrs of his career!
Nice Numbers Marty Boy:

Marty was still a better deal than Ricky G.

The really odd thing is that Shapiro spotted that Marty was not a man for the future but then didn't apply the same logic to Rickey G. The signing of Brady Anderson (and especially the $1m buyout that was initially covered up) defied belief.
It proves how muddled the half and half strategy at the start of the year was.
That said the moves once Tribe went into full rebuilding mode seem pretty decent. My question is will Dolan shell out for an Ace pitcher if Tribe is showing signs of contending in 2004. My prediction is that he will want the sellouts first. He wont get them and Sabathia will be traded with one year left.
PS - I still believe that Lawton would have been fine but for the injury.

I was and am a big Lawton fan...(surprise, surprise).
But the math did not add up for me.
The guy still managed 15 homers on a bum shoulder. He could be dangerous next year if he is healthy.
